Quogue Village Police Department Goals and Objectives for 2011
- The Department will commit all necessary resources required to ensure the safety of its citizens and visitors alike.
- The Department will attempt to replace the current police marine vessel with a new boat received via a grant from NYS Parks & Recreation. The equipment contained within the current vessel will be transferred over to the new vessel should the grant request be approved.
- The Department will continue its pursuit of new technologies in an effort to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency in how it delivers police services to the community.
- The Department will hold at least two Child Safety Seat events for members of the Village and its surrounding communities.
- The Department will offer and hold at least one community CPR class in an effort to train as many residents as possible in this life saving skill.
- The Department will hold another community relations and educational program via the offering of a crime prevention program to its local businesses and residents.
- The Department will hold one Safe Sitter class for young adolescents in the surrounding communities.
- The Department will continue its participation in marine operations via the joint 'Op-Shield' grant between our agency and the East End Law Enforcement Task Force.
- The Department will continue its efforts to fill the vacant Detective and Sergeant's position omitted from the last two Village budgets.
- The Department will offer to the public a "Marine Boater Safety Education Course" sometime during the calendar year.
- The Department will expand the EMT Program by adding an additional "Emergency Medical Technician".
